Tom Kiely is the relatively new CEO of Visit West Hollywood, the organization that informs the world about what West Hollywood has to offer and why it’s worth a visit. He moved here late last year with his husband, Farid Taheri, from San Francisco. What does he see as what’s best about West Hollywood?
WHY DO I LOVE WEHO?
I Really love the welcoming attitude of our residents to all who visit. This positive, welcoming attitude certainly complements our efforts at VWH to attract visitors to our city.
Farid and I both feel really comfortable in West Hollywood. No matter where we go, we like the relaxed feeling of the city and its residents. We always run into someone we know!
West Hollywood is compact, and we try to walk everywhere. Our friends that visit never realize how compact and walkable the city is and how much there is to see and do here.
Professionally, I have felt very welcomed here, whether it be from the local hotel and business community, to the City Council and even my col-leagues at VWH. That’s not always the case when you move to other cities.
They have all been very supportive of Visit West Hollywood and me, which is super helpful.
And finally…. that glorious sunshine!
Not to say anything bad about the beautiful city of San Francisco from where we relocated, but Farid and I both missed the sunny, warm weather that southern California, and particu-larly West Hollywood offers.
